He can't still be enjoying his film career, surely. Well, even if he is, I'm not. Na-Nu Na-Nu.

It's a sad indictment on the three greatest white standups of their generation that they are all producing product that would be best never having been produced...
Steve Martin, Woody Allen and Robin Williams, between the three of them (and of course Richard Pryor) the nineteen seventies was a golden age, I strongly passionately recommend Pryor's "Bicentennial Nigger" as one of the best stand up records of all time.
Then Hollywood comes a-calling and Woody goes "artistic", Steve decided to turn into a demented Mr Bean like farce character, and Robin decided to become the living embodiment of a certain type of "Hollywood magic". Thank god for cocaine or we might have seen Pryor himself joining this unholy trinity, but fortunately he only managed a few movies this bad (I love Superman 3, but *Jesus* Pryor, this is not a role for a man of your talents).
Ever since Mighty Aphrodite (for Allen) and Father Of The Bride for Martin these two have been producing unending drivel - Need a film in which a middle aged intellectual becomes bessotted with a young attractive woman, Allen time. Need a film where a middle aged everyguy does third rate physical comedy with a female foil? Martin time. Williams sold out earlier, I'll admit straight out that i've never liked anything he ever did.
His career has two gears - sensitive paternal intellectual in the classic Hollywood type (see Awakenings, Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society) and the "magic of hollywood" farce, see Mrs Doubtfire and Bicentential Man.
I hate him, I hate everything he's done, and its a sad sad shame to see this happen to a legendary standup, but not nearly as sad as seeing the man behind "The Man With Two Brains" acting opposite Queen Latifah...
Oh, standups of the 70's, what the fuck happened to you all?
I don't mind a bit of schmaltz, and feel no shame in admitting that I enjoyed Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society.
However, the worst film I can remember seeing is William's recent offering 'Man of the year'.
Dear Lord that is a bad film.
Fu'king hell
